As a content creator, transcription has been a very important part of my business writing career.

When I am working on a transcription project, I need to listen to an audio file or watch a video clip to transcribe what has been said in the content. Outsiders and people who are illiterate and without knowledge always thought transcription was a joke. Professional writers, however, know this is a no-kidding job, for the readers and clients who need the transcription files are usually law firms or courts, legislative or government institutes, as well as banks and corporations.

Transcription is fun but it takes a lot of hard work. A one-hour audio file usually takes me six to eight hours to transcribe. If the clients require detailed time stamps, I normally need two working days to get the transcription file done neatly.

Some clients might find out that it is not cheap to get professional writers to work on transcription. Well, if you want it cheap, you won’t get quality work. If you request for quality work, it is definitely not cheap.

Each dollar counts in business, so do transcription projects.
