About English style guide 英文格式

我們寫作的每個語文皆有格式，英文當然也不例外。英語國家各有各的格式，譯者和寫作人必須根據英美或澳洲各自的要求調整格式，香港與新加坡的格式也必須注意，尤其是接觸到政府或法庭文件的時候。

若不是正式文件，一般使用的格式我通常跟隨英國格式，尤其是TheWriter.com推薦的格式。他們的作者群經過商議之後確立了一套格式，除了讓文章看起來整齊專業，觀感上也符合美學標準。

英文是一個非常理性的語文。若時時緊跟英文文法，加上漂亮的格式，我們都可以寫得一手有尊嚴、有格調的英文文章。以良好文法與格式為標準，筆下的英文有了定海神針，寫起來也會覺得自己可以抬起頭做人。

Every language that we write has a style, and English language is one of them. English countries have their own styles and all writers have to adjust the style accordingly. It could be a British or American style, or a style required for drafting Australian English documents. Style guides in Hong Kong and Singapore are also important, particularly when we are handling government and court documents.

English is a very rational language. Follow English grammar and beautiful style strictly and we are able to write good English pieces of dignity and delicate tone of voice.
