Starting 2019, I am embarking upon English editing and proofreading work. Such work has been on and off before this, and those were scattering projects. And you can imagine, touching up things here and there doesn’t qualify you as an English editor. Needless to say, I did not make much progress in editing. Neither did I feel myself upgrading to the level of an English editor.

Thanks to NAATI Australia, I need to learn new things and take up new courses to renew my certification as a certified translator. NAATI sets such requirements to make sure professional members continue making progress in professional translation and writing.

I then took up some online editing courses and edited some articles. Second half of 2018 saw some progress and I am now editing some projects. I do hope for a smooth progress ahead.

Humans struggle to move upwards; water flows downwards, as the Cantonese saying goes. I certainly want to be more than a translator.

From my translation pen to my editing pen, I will be very proud to edit and introduce clients’ new English books, articles and online contents.
