Good writing, good start 優良文章好開年

Good writing is the best way to better communicate with people around the world. Thankfully, the English materials that I read are of better standard. The pieces are grammatically correct and have accurate punctuation.

Chinese materials that I came across are still lousy. Perhaps the writers are always writing with a fear that their readers could not understand them. So they lower the language standard to an unbelievably low level. I think there is a reason as to why I have been reading English books and materials most of the time upon graduation from NTNU.

As a translator, I always remind myself to write clear and concise language. This is about the writer’s and the reader’s dignity. Do not humiliate your readers with lousy language. Keep this in mind and we will have a good start.

好文章從來都是跟全世界好好溝通的最佳方式。慶幸的是，我閱讀的英文資料一向都寫得不錯，文法與標點符號都合格。

我看到的中文讀物大多水準低下。也許那些作者一直擔心讀者看不懂文章，於是他們降低書寫標準直至一個難以置信的程度。

我從師大畢業之後通常都是閱讀英文書籍和資料，其實不是沒有原因。

作為一個譯者，我時時提醒自己書寫清晰簡潔的文章。寫作的事，攸關作者與讀者的尊嚴。讓讀者讀破爛語文簡直是恥辱。我們且以此為鑑，寫好文章好開年。
